Lazy or rational?
Jessie Jots...
I woke up super early today, and still very excited to be in this new home of ours. So happy that there's ample of room everywhere for everything and I don't have to get my legs bruised from avoiding the furnitures anymore. We're still in the process of unpacking and boy, am I glad to get three time the size of closet compare to the old one. By just adding $50 bucks to our rent, we get two rooms and all this space. Oh dear... a dream come true!
And so then, I did my usual thing, brush my teeth, take a dump, wear my clothes, blow my hair straight, put a pin on it, eat my cereal, pack my bags and ready to head off to the bus stop. I step out of the apartment at least 7 minutes earlier taking in consideration that it's raining out, it might take me a while to get there. Just as I was to approach the bus stop, the bus zoom away from me and I had to walk home.
Because of that, I decided to skip my 9:30am class. Now, I like to think this is a rational decision but I also sounded lazy and taking advantage of the 'miss-the-bus incident'. I told Hushby why...
... I had to skip because:
- If I drove to school, there's no parking spot. Even if there's one, I can only park two hour max.
- Public parking spots are usually at least 2 miles away from my art building, with the rain, it feels like 5 miles.
- My shoes will be wet
- I carry 2 bags to school. One for two hefty textbooks, 1 liter of water and some notebooks and the other, art supplies, drawing papers, scissors, ruler, black paper, and my lunch box.
- Oh, and I have to carry my umbrella, not forgetting, wet shoes.
- If I couldn't make it in time to move my car out of the spot in that two hour time frame, I will get a $20 fine, which of course, I've been fined before. Ouch
Feeling all excited to go to my most favorite class of the semester - History Art II with Dr. Levy earlier this morning was very dissapointing to me after the bus mishap.
But I can't help feeling guilty!
*snap*
I have to comfort myself. I missed class this time is because I am rational. Yes, rational!

We've Moved!
Jessie Jots...
Yes I have moved. Couldn't be happier in this new place. Unlike many other apartments we've seen, this apartment is really posh but at an affordable price.
We moved in on Saturday, working out our muscles for about 12 hours before calling it a day. Then on Sunday, we work for another six hours to get some other small stuff from our old apartment to the new before calling it "that's enough!" After that, I had to work on my drawing with charcoal and look for some ideas for the upcoming project with plaster. On Monday morning, I had to go to school early enough to work on the armor a little bit and putting it on in a piece by the display cabinet.... and gosh, are you tired from just reading this post?
Every blog I see, there's sure going to be blogs people say
"I'm tired!"
"I'm stress out"
"I have too much to do"
"I don't have time!"
I get tired from reading other bloggers getting tired. But this time, I have to admit it, I am really exhausted myself. I yearn for a relaxing one hour long massage but hushby is too 'straight' to see it. Maybe I should start winding like many wives do.

Black and pink wedding
Jessie jots...
Yep, if you haven't notice... I'm quite fickle-minded. I really don't like any of the bloggers.com blog template and if I have time to fool around with the html, I will. But at the moment, I will just stick with this... temporary.
And so we went to Emily's Wedding on September 29th. It was graceful, modern and very romantic indeed. We knew Emily back in the days of Target and had a lot in common. We both studied in St. Cloud before, we love kids, enjoy good food and wouldn't mind gaining ten pounds for a good juicy lucy burger.
Here's Emily's mom and dad walking her down the aisle... while Emily in her beautiful dress which her mom-in-law made for her. When I say beautiful, it is really beautiful! It's a little off-white, creamy color with very detail buttons on her back. The bouquet of flower is such a fresh look for the fall and not to mentioned, great accessories to match the gown.
Black and bright pink were her theme color. A lot of people said to her that the color would be a disgrace to the wedding but I thought, being the 21st century human that I am today, it was really sophisticated and elegant when that two color paired up.
For the reception, we were all elegantly served with a four course meal dinner at a golf course overseeing a big scenic lake. As we stepped into the clubhouse, everything was just matching, matching, matching. The little gifts were in matching pink and black color filled with M&Ms, black napkins placed on glasses plus petals all over the table and they were the color of Emily's bouquet. How sweet.
As all good things must come to an end... we called it a day with some good dance and good laughs. We were all too glad that we finally get to see Jayde's mom and dad got married after five years being together. They couldn't be more perfect together and I'm sure her and his parents will always treasure them for years to come.
Self-Portrait
Jessie jots...
I had a Sean Connaughty's class homework due last Monday... didn't have a chance to post the drawing but hey, here it is!
A self-portrait was due on a 18 x 24 drawing paper with graphite or charcoal. Unlike many others, I used charcoal because it is easier to draw and easier to make bigger changes when the drawing paper is huge. The initial drawing took me about one a half hours. And then, was later given critiques about how I can make self-portrait look more like me.
So, I took it home and draw it again, very much haunted by Sean's advices in my brain.
"Jessie, sit yourself some place with stronger lights...
measure with one eye close and extend your arm...
look at where the shadows go..."
I will not post the first disgusting work of myself here (also because it is just not worth yours and my time reevaluating the differences) but will post the second attempt and the third.
The second attempt took me about an hour or less. Then realizing that my eyes were located too high above the nose, which then make the nose look like it has been elongated. Very renaissance I thought. Speaking about renaissance, I should set a favorite Early Renaissance art here some
time soon.
Then, of course I had to rework it and aim for a better grade.

Here's the third attempt. I've done a little 'rubber surgery' on myself. Located my eyes lower to the nose and give the nose more definition by adding more shadows. Plus, I highlighted some of my hair to give the low and high contrast look.
In an ideal world, I would love for my face to look like this. No pores, no thick lips, great hair all day and all moles are ousted. hehe
